Manson In Society Essay, Research Paper

Throughout the article Manson states that he considers movies, music and books to have nothing to do with inspiring cold blooded murders. As an example he uses when Cain killed his own brother Abel. Manson says, The only motivation he needed was his own human disposition to violence. The next major point that Manson uses on who s to blame for Columbine is the media. And how the problem with the media is that the media misinterprets many events, and involves cameras where they are not necessary. Next Mason goes on to discussing the topic of Jesus Christ, or as he stated in the article half naked man , and how he hands all throughout our homes and around our necks. It is also mentioned that we take Jesus Christ for granted. One of the most profound statements that Manson says is that the world most famous murder-suicide was also the birth of a death icon.

Manson s next target of focus was how the media places so much attention on deaths and killers. Such as how TIME magazine puts the faces of killers on their cover page, and looking upon murders as if they are movie stars. As an example Manson uses the Columbine murderers as an example, then mentions that people should not be surprised if every kid who gets pushed around has two new idols Manson says there is no excuse for the massacre, but nor is the music to blame. He says if a kid is old enough to drive a car or buy a gun, isn t he old enough to be held personally responsible for what he does with his car or gun.

A quote that Manson had stated, and was really profound was When it comes down whom to blame for the high school murders in Littleton, Colorado, throw a rock and you ll hit someone who s guilty. After that statement Manson discusses how anyone is responsible for the problems of this sort in our society. We re the people who sit back and tolerate children owning guns, and we re the ones who tune in and watch the up-to-the-minute details Manson says. Manson believes that one of mans greatest fears is chaos. Also he believes that whenever there is a problem in America a scapegoat is always going to be needed.

Manson believes that America love to try and find someone and something to hang its guilt on. Then he openly admits that he is looked upon as and anarchist, and how anything illegal or immoral is associated with him. His last main point is that we live in a free country, and that with comes the burden of personal responsibility. Manson states, how can you prevent AIDS, world war, depression, or car crashes. There are just some things that you cannot prevent, he believes. Manson s last few thoughts on the media was that they are just fame-seekers looking to fill their churches, and trying to get elected.
