Abortion Essay, Research Paper
Abortions in the world are very common today. Abortion is when the pregnancy is terminated before birth developing the death of the fetus. Abortion has been a debate in wich to keep it legal or illegal all over the world. some abortions happen naturally by the mother having an injury or a disorder and also when the fetus doesn’t develop normaly. This is known as a miscarriage. Other abortions occur simply because the women or man decides not to have it. In the United States, the debate over abortion has led to battles in courts, in congress of the United State and states legislatures(”Abortions”[online]http://Microsoft). There are several methods to perform abortions. When the women is pregnated she goes through three trimesters if she goes through the nine months. Abortions in the first trimester of pregnancy are easier and safer to perform abortion, in the second and third trimesters has more complicated procedures and also gives the women a greater risk in her health. There’s a varity of drug based abortion methods that can be used. There is method commonly used called the morning after pill, which can only be used within 72 hours of unprotected sexual intercourse to stop fatal development. Also misoprostol which interferes with cell division. preemptive abortion is when a narrow tube is inserted through the cervix into the uterus killing the egg and removing it . there is vacuum aspiation which the cannula is attached to an electrically powerd pump that removes anything from the uterus. Dialation and curettage is when dialating the cervix and scrapping the uterine linning. An induction abortion is when amniotic fluid is removed and another fluid is replaced and from 24 – 48 hrs the fetus is expelled. In the late second and third trimesters, abortians procedures use a hysterutomy and intact dialation where uterus is cut open and fetus is removed(”Abortions”[online]http://microsoft). We as a group agree that abortions should be illegal, only with exceptions. For example, if the mother has some kind of illness like Aids, then the fetus should be aborted so he or she won?t be born and suffer from the disease. Or maybe if a girl is raped and ends up pregnant, then she should have her choice of abortion. And the last exception is when the water is unable to carry baby due to problems with uterus or something else. Even if a girl has no money, there is welfare that supports them and they can give it to adoption after having it. We think that girls are stupid for having an abortion because they are not ready. If they werenet ready than they should not had sex in the first place. If the condom broke, then oh well it stucks to be you. They know condoms or other birth controls items are not 100% effective. That?s our opinion on abortion and that?s how we think it should be (Lowenstein, 16-20). Abortion has become a widely debated ethical issue. One side of this debate are pro choice supporters who fight for the women?s reproductive rights. On the other side are the pro-life advocates who oppose abortion except in certain situations. Pro-choice supporters say that the rights belong to the women carrying the fetus and, the fetus has no legal rights. Pro-life supporters argue that the fetus has legal right of life from the moment the egg and sperm unite. This debate over abortion issues has led to hostility in the abortion debate. Since women have their own choices or opinion, they are afraid that the government will decide what happens with that baby or without their concern (Guernsey 26-35). Abortion are illegal or forbided in certain religons practices and some countries in the world, back in the 1800?s, abortion was illegal until now. Abortion became to be needed and laws were starting to be changed a little. Abortion has been practiced all around the world since the ancient times as a cruel method of birth control. Women would stick a sharp object in her uterus and scrap all around to kill the small fetus (Graber, 19)
