Recycling Essay, Research Paper
Reusing products is one way to cut down on what we throw away this is called recycle. Recycle
reduces the amount of waste that needs to be buried in a landfill.
This reduction in volume may result in reduced disposal costs to add to the useful life expectancy of
a landfill. And recycling puts discarded material to valuable use, cutting down on a litter and
conserving natural resources. In some localities, recycled materials are sold.
A person living in an industrialized, wealthy nation may produce as much as 875kg (more
than 1900 lb) of domestic waste in one year. Domestic, or household, waste includes a wide variety
of items, and is often mix of potentially reusable or recyclable items (such as newspapers and cans)
and largely non-recyclable material (such as broken or worn out devices and plastics packaging).
Due to dwelling space for landfills, many cities have adopted widespread recycling programs in
which people separate out the valuable components of their refuse before the remainder if
transported to a local dump.
Recycling can help save the world because if no one recycles there won’t be enough land to
dig in trash. 60% is industrial which is companies like Capsugel, Fugi, Monsanto, etc. 30% is
Residential which is from home. 10% is from commercial which is smaller business. In the 1996
Coca-Cola was one of the most companies that recycled more. There is allot of things that you can
recycle like glass, paper, plastic, aluminum cans. Instead of bying plastic cups, or paper towels, or
the boxes of detergent if you don’t recycle is better to bye the glass cups that can be washable, or
use cloth that can be washed, and instead of bying the carton boxes of detergent bye the refills. One
other thing that you can recycle is a battery bye a recharge machine it will also save you some
money, and you can use it again. Also its better to bye something that will last more years instead of
bying the same thing every year.
You can also help the environment by recycling your mailm since is paper, and you can also
recycle your newspaper that you get everyday. There are allot of things that are made from recycled
things like a wall clock, a bucket, a computer mouse pad, a computer disk, a clipboard, motor oil, a
pen, or paint.
Some people think throwing away a small piece of paper is not allot, but small pieces
become big, and soon if will become a whole landfill of paper.
We have a problem of too much trash. Each year, Americans generate millions of tons of
trash in the form of wrappings, bottles, boxes, cans, grass clippings, furniture, clothing phone books,
and much more. Over the years, we have gotten used to “throwing it away,” so it’s easy to
understand why now there’s too much trash and not enough acceptable places to put it.
In less than 30 years, durable goods ( tires, appliances, furniture and nondurable goods
(paper, certain disposable products, clothing) in the solid waste stream nearly tripled. These now
account for about 75 million tons of garbage per year. At the same time, container and packaging
material includes glass, aluminum, plastics, steel and other metals, and paper and paperboard. Yard
trimmings such as grass clippings and tree limbs are also a subtanial part of what we throw away. In
addition, many relatively small components of the national solid waste stream add up to millions of
tons. For example, even 1 percent of the amounts to almost 2 million tons of trash each year.
As a nation we are starting to realize that we can’t just solve the problem finding places to
dig in trash. People may think that recycling is hard, but its not you only have to know what to
recycle, they think you have to dig in the trash to see what to recycle.
There is another way that you can help the environment whenever you have a party you can
rent, or share the things like chairs, dishes, silverware’s. people think is better if you bye things that
you can throw away, it is but whenever we are in trouble we are going to look back at this and think
we could done something. Instead of bying new things because you are tired of them you can donate
them to people if they are in good conditions, or you can open a garage sales, bazaars, etc.
You can reuse things like a can of peanut butter, you can use it for flowers, for a collection
of marbles, for honey, or even a container to put your fish in tin after you fished. Try to bye things
that have been recycled because you can recycled them again. If you like to use your imagination
you will like this. Turn a giant cardboard box into a child’s playhouse, transform a plastic ice cream
tub into a flower pot, turn used tires into a child’s into a swing set.
REDUCE-the amount of trash discarded.
REUSE- containers and products.
RECYCLE- use recycle products, and compost.
RESPOND-to the solid waste by reconsidering waste-producing activities and by expressing
preferences for less waste.
